"NYYM has been in our life for the past four years. We've been lucky enough to find this wonderful school in Marine Park, Brooklyn. My daughter, Emily, started out studying guitar there. I cannot say enough great things about the school and Mrs. Diana! NYYM is a smaller school, which makes the whole experience more close and personal. Mrs. Diana is the most committed, patient, professional, and fun teacher anyone can ask for. Emily has taken up piano with Mrs. Diana for the past year. "New York Youth Musicians is a brilliant and unique institution for young musicians. I have been a part of NYYM for over 6 years and I am extremely thankful for the opportunities it gave me. NYYM provided me with the skills on how to play with numerous types of ensembles, performance experiences, how to express myself through music, training in Music Theory, ear training, audition preparation, master classes and so much more. Through their audition training, I was accepted to Interlochen Summer Arts Camp 2011 and 2012, New York Youth Symphony, Mannes College of Music, Montclair State University, and The Boston Concservatory - all with tremendous scholarships. With so much guidance and training through NYYM, my list of accomplishments continue to grow. I am currently a full-time student at The Boston Conservatory pursuing a BM in Percussion Performance. NYYM has also inspired me to pursue a career in music.
Ms. Diana provides a wonderful environment for everyone involved. It's full of energy, there is no judgement of each other, and it is contagiously fun. She brings the best out of each student and allows them to shine at the end of each year. Every June, she puts on a showcase at Merkin Concert Hall in NYC and recitals for all students. This is what makes NYYM so unique and it's why everyone should be a part of it."
